It’s safe to say that the San Francisco 49ers haven’t had the best injury luck at the quarterback position this season. Starting quarterback Trey Lance went down with a devastating injury at the beginning of the season, but then former starter Jimmy Garoppolo was there to fill in and save the team’s season. But then Garoppolo went down with an injury, leaving the team with rookie quarterback Brock Purdy running the offense. And now it seems he is dealing with an injury, though it doesn’t look like it will cause him to miss any games.
Despite an oblique injury that caused former practice squad quarterback Josh Johnson to finish the game, Brock Purdy said that he expects to be “ready to roll” for Thursday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.
“Yeah, I mean, we’ll see how it goes this week,” Purdy said according to 49erswebzone.com. “Just felt a little tight at the end, just from taking some hits. But honestly, man, like if I needed to play throughout the rest of the game, I definitely would have. So, I’m going to get some treatment on it and be ready to roll.”
In the first start of his career this week, Purdy completed 76.2 percent of his passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns. It was good enough to lead the Niners to a 35-7 victory.
