Last year, San Francisco 49ers rookie quarterback Brock Purdy burst onto the scene, leading his team to an undefeated record as a starter and a trip to the NFC Championship game before a shoulder injury ended his game and his season. But despite the brutal injury, it sounds like his recovery timeline is going well.
As David Lombardi of The Athletic points out on Twitter, Purdy faces a pretty optimistic timeline as he tries to return from his injury this offseason.
“Good news on 49ers QB Brock Purdy from KNBR: John Lynch expects him to resume throwing 12 weeks post-elbow surgery, which would be in early June. At this point, SF should develop more clarity on an exact return timeline,” Lombardi said in a tweet on
“Still seems to be a chance Purdy is back Week 1, but SF has been bracing for absence that stretches to Week 4,” Lombardi added in his tweet.
It’s definitely a positive update for Purdy despite some concerns that his recovery could be longer, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media.
Niners fans will undoubtedly still be hoping for a speedy recovery for Purdy after his dominant debut season with the team last year.
