San Fransisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk had the best season of his career last year, emerging as the team’s top wide receiver. But he’s not quite satisfied with that performance.
During an interview this week, Brandon Aiyuk made it clear that he plans to improve upon his performance from last season.
“I’m about to take off,” Aiyuk said according to David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com. “That’s it. . . . We all know it’s football. Nothing’s ever guaranteed, but just getting a better understanding for my life as a person, and then as a football player, kind of putting those things together and then just looking to get better.
“I feel like, now, having another offseason [to build upon], coming out here again for another OTA spring ball, whatever you want to call it, being able to work with those guys, being able to work on my craft, being able to get better and just continue to look to get better. That’s really it.”
Last season, Aiyuk had career-highs in targets (114), catches (78) and receiving yards (1,015), leading the team in all three categories. If he truly does noticeably improve this season, that would put him among the most dominant receivers in the entire league.
