Thursday’s NFL game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles had moments both impressive (Giants’ receiver Golden Tate’s touchdown grab) and not-so-impressive (an 80-yard run from Giants’ quarterback Daniel Jones that started off well, but ended with Jones tripping before the end zone). And there were quite a few of the not-so-impressive moments, as you’d expect from a contest between 1-5 (New York) and 1-4-1 (Philadelphia) teams. But in the end, the Eagles came back from an 11-point deficit in the final five minutes and pulled off a 22-21 victory thanks to a last-minute touchdown catch from running back Boston Scott (seen above on a run earlier in the game):
The Giants got one more chance after that, and only needed a field goal to win thanks to the Eagles missing their two-point conversion attempt. But that ended with Brandon Graham forcing a Jones fumble and Vinny Curry recovering it, marking a fitting end to the night:
On the night, Eagles’ quarterback Carson Wentz completed 23 of 45 passing attempts (51.1 percent) for 359 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and he ran seven times for 14 yards and a touchdown. For New York, Jones completed 20 of 30 passes (66.7 percent) for 197 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and he added 92 yards on four carries. But it was the final grab by Scott (who also had 12 carries for 46 yards) and the final fumble by Jones that proved decisive.
