Los Angeles Rams star Bobby Wagner won’t face charges after an incident with a protestor two months ago.
Wagner and the Rams played the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football two months ago. It was then that Wagner tackled a protestor that stormed the field at Levi’s Stadium. Shortly after, the protestor filed charges. But they and Wagner learned Thursday that those charges won’t be carried forward.
TMZ Sports had the scoop, tweeting Thursday, “TMZ Sports has learned Rams star Bobby Wagner won’t face criminal charges for tackling a field invader earlier this year.”
The report from TMZ read, “A spokesperson for the Santa Clara Police Department tells us … after investigating the Oct. 3 ‘Monday Night Football’ incident, police “did not file charges with the Santa Clara County District Attorneys Office.”
The report doesn’t cite a rationale for the lack of charges.
The Rams have had a pretty dreadful fall that will turn into a very long winter (At least it’s nice out). Things are so bad, the team is playing for someone else’s draft position thanks to the Jared Goff-Matthew Stafford trade with Detroit.
But at least pending legal issues won’t be a problem for the star linebacker anymore after Thursday’s relieving news.
