For over a week, the entire NFL world has been gripped with concern for Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin after he collapsed and needed life-saving CPR on the field during a Monday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals. But with Hamlin now released from the hospital and back at home, the Bills are now just focused on Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
And during his press conference, Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott revealed that while he is happy about the very positive Damar Hamlin updates, his team is jut trying to focus on the upcoming game against the Dolphins, saying “this is not a soap opera.
“We’re just focusing on this game, honestly,” McDermott said according to Pro Football Talk. “This is not a soap opera. We’ve got one game to get ready for and that’s really what we’re focused on.”
McDermott stressed the importance of preparing for this week’s game, noting that the Bills actually lost to the Dolphins earlier this year.
“That’s what we have to do. This is a good football team that we split with this year and we have a lot of respect for them,” McDermott said. “We’ve got to get ourselves ready to go.”
Meanwhile, the Dolphins appear ready to start rookie quarterback Skylar Thompson in the game with starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa ruled out and backup Teddy Bridgewater dealing with injuries of his own.
