Famous doctor reveals shocking Tua Tagovailoa opinion

As the NFL and NFLPA continue to investigate the Tua Tagovailoa situation after the Miami Dolphins quarterback suffered a scary concussion just four days after he was cleared to return to the game after suffering an apparent head injury, one prominent neuropathologist doesn’t think Tagovailoa should ever play another snap of football.

Famous neuropathologist Bennet Omalu, who inspired the 2015 movie Concussion, believes that Tagovailoa should “gallantly walk away” from football after suffering the brutal hit last week, according to TMZ Sports.

“If you love your life, if you love your family, you love your kids — if you have kids — it’s time to gallantly walk away,” Omalu said to Tagovailoa. “Go find something else to do.”

“Tua, my brother. I love you,” Omalu added. “I love you as much as I love my son. Stop playing. Stop. Hang your helmet and gallantly walk away.”

While Tagovailoa said in a statement that he is “feeling much better” and that he is focused on his recovery so that “he can get back out on the field with my teammates,” Omalu thinks that would be a mistake and would risk his life.

“He should stop,” Omalu said. “Sometimes money is not more valuable than human life. $20 billion is not worth more than your brain.”

Omalu is not the first neuroscientist to speak on the situation as a prominent neuroscientist had quite a grave prediction if Tagovailoa continues to suffer traumatic head injuries.

While it’s not clear when or if Tagovailoa will be cleared to return, he has been ruled out of this week’s game against the New York Jets. Meanwhile, the investigation into the handling of his head injury is expected to conclude this week.
