The Cincinnati Bengals came into this season with Super Bowl aspirations despite missing the playoffs in each of the previous two seasons. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse after star quarterback Joe Burrow went down with a turf toe injury that will keep him sidelined for a minimum of three months.

The Bengals still believe they can make a playoff push behind Burrow’s backup, Jake Browning, but know that it’ll take a herculean effort from the other pieces around him. Unfortunately for Cincinnati, two key pieces are going to miss Sunday’s game, according to one prominent league insider.

“Bengals ruled out TE Noah Fant (concussion) and DE Shemar Stewart (ankle) for Monday Night’s game in Denver vs the Broncos,” ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Saturday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Typical Bengals luck. Losing Fant and Stewart just hands the Broncos an easy win. Time to tank the season and draft a real team,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Losing Fant hurts more than it looks on paper,” another fan added.

“Depth is now under pressure on both sides of the ball,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Bengals can get it done on Sunday despite their depleted roster.
