The Week 1 matchup between the Cleveland Browns and the Carolina Panthers has been extremely publicized since it will be Baker Mayfield’s first game against his former team since Cleveland parted ways with him in favor of Deshaun Watson.

Mayfield has not minced words about how excited he is to play his former team, saying that he is going to “f*** them up” and that the game means a lot to him.

It should certainly be must-watch television when Mayfield takes on Cleveland in Week 1. Mayfield revealed an interesting marketing opportunity for the game on his social media accounts on Friday.

Mayfield seems to be partnering with Glory Days Apparel, which is a clothing brand based out of Charlotte, North Carolina.

The apparel company revealed new Baker Mayfield-themed merchandise, with one of the shirts in particular promoting the Panthers matchup against the Browns.

“They’re here,” said Mayfield on his Twitter page. “The ONLY officially licensed shirts out there.”

The shirt promoting the game shows Mayfield wearing a cowboy hat with a message reading “Live & In Person, Carolina vs Cleveland”.

Things ended badly between him and the Browns organization, and Mayfield has made his thoughts on the franchise very public since being traded. His comments have also clearly caught the attention of the Browns locker room, with Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett commenting on the matter.

“We’ll take it and we’ll use it, and I’m hoping for a great matchup,” said Garrett on Mayfield’s comments.

The Browns’ motivation to prove Mayfield wrong against Mayfield’s motivation of revenge against his former team will certainly be one of the most entertaining storylines as we get closer to Week 1 of the NFL season.
