Throughout the past few months, Tom Brady has been involved in all sorts of controversies from his mysterious absence from preseason camp to his very public marriage problems and controversial podcast comments. Brady was involved in another controversy this week when he skipped the team’s walk-through on Saturday to attend the wedding of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles downplayed Brady’s absence on Saturday, saying that Brady does not get any special treatment. But Brady’s absence from the team walk-through still frustrated some people, including former Pro Bowl and All-Pro offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth.
“I’m going to be honest – It’s probably not a fun take to say, but to me, it bothered me. It really did,” Whitworth said on The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Monday. “Just for me, I think what Tom’s always been known as is the guy who’s like: ‘You will never outwork me. You will never out-prepare me. I will outwork anybody in this business.’ And I think every one of those guys looks up to [him] in that way.”
