Cleveland Browns superstar wide receiver Amari Cooper had himself a record-breaking performance on Sunday night to lead the team to victory over the Houston Texans, and he had some bold words to describe himself after the strong showing.
Amari Cooper finished the game with 11 catches for 265 yards and two touchdowns, setting a new Cleveland Browns single-game receiving yards record. And after the game, he had a pretty blunt message about his abilities on the field, declaring that he sees himself as “unguardable.
“Yeah, I mean every time I step on the field, I try to put forth my best effort, I do truly feel like I’m unguardable,” Cooper said in a post-game interview with NFL Network’s Stacey Dales according to NFL.com. “You know it’s all about opportunities, and I had a lot of opportunities today, so I was able to take advantage of them.”
While those are certainly some bold words from Cooper, it’s hard to deny the results on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, the Browns took a major step toward clinching a spot in the postseason, allowing the team to clinch a playoff spot with a win at home next weekend.
As the team continues its march toward the postseason, they’ll need continued strong performances from Cooper.
