This NFL offseason has featured a blooming market for free agent wide receivers, with a ton of receivers getting huge contracts and shifting the asking price for the position.
Tennesee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown is seemingly one of the next up-and-coming receivers that will make a ton of money in the near future. Brown is on the last year of his contract, and he has elected not to go to the team’s voluntary offseason program while he works with the team on a potential contract extension.
This has raised speculation that Brown may be a potential trade target for teams if contract talks go sideways, similar to what we saw with the Kansas City Chiefs trading Tyreek Hill.
Titans GM Jon Robinson discussed the topic during a press conference on Thursday, where he had a short and concise response to any rumors surrounding Brown being traded this offseason.
“I don’t foresee that happening,” Robinson said.
Robinson also added that he has been in talks with Brown’s representatives, but declined to give any insight on how close both sides are to coming to an agreement on a new contract.
Brown has been one of the most important pieces to the Titans’ recent success, racking up 869 yards and five touchdowns in 2021. With the addition of Robert Woods this offseason to pair with Brown next season, the Titans’ offense can be one of the most underrated in all of football in 2022.
