The Las Vegas Raiders absolutely dominated the Los Angeles Chargers in a 63-21 game that they actually led 49-0 in the third quarter, and it was due in large part to some strong performances from a few rookie players on the offensive side of the ball. Rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell led the way, and he’s proud of his fellow rookies.
In the game, Aidan O’Connell threw for 248 yards with four touchdowns while rookie wide receiver Tre Tucker had 59 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and rookie tight end Michael Mayer had 39 yards and one touchdown. It was a big day for the rookies, and O’Connell was proud of how far they’ve come since joining the team.
“I came in with those guys and we were talking today and yesterday about how far we’ve come and how different it is from when we first got here,” O’Connell said according to Pro Football Talk. “The NFL is really hard and it’s hard in your first year. To be able to go through it with those guys and share similar experiences has been awesome.”
Obviously, those three rookies are off to a strong start to their NFL careers. We’ll have to see how the develop going forward.
