The Pittsburgh Steelers are facing the Green Bay Packers on national television on Sunday night. However, the game will almost certainly mean a little extra for one player: Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers won four MVPs and a Super Bowl, against the Steelers, ironically, as the starting quarterback for the Packers.
In fact, a win on Sunday will put Rodgers in some elite company and rarified air. The Packers are the only team Rodgers has never beaten over his Hall of Fame career, which makes sense considering how many years he spent with the franchise.
Should the Steelers win on Sunday, he’ll join Brett Favre, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Peyton Manning as the only quarterbacks to have a win against every team in the league.
However, Rodgers is making sure that he clears the air about how he views the Packers’ organization ahead of Sunday’s game.
“I don’t have any animosity toward the organization. Obviously, I wish that things had been better in our last year there, but I have a great relationship with a lot of people still in that organization. This is not a revenge game for me,” he said, via Steelers writer Nick Farabaugh.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Steelers look on Sunday. Pittsburgh is coming off an embarassing loss to the Cincinnati Bengals that changed the way many fans and pundits view them across the nation.
A win could go a long way toward reestablishing some legitimacy to their season.
