When Aaron Rodgers announced that he would be joining the New York Jets, there were some who expressed concern about just how long Rodgers would be staying with the team, especially given that he was also considering retiring from the league this offseason. But it seems that Rodgers will be around the NFL for a while.
This week, Aaron Rodgers made it clear that this won’t be a one-and-done year with the New York Jets – he plans to play for the team for multiple seasons.
“This is going to be a few-year partnership,” Rodgers said according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.
Rodgers said that he is “taking it one year at a time” and doesn’t necessarily have a specific plan for when he’ll retire from football, but he does plan to play multiple seasons with the Jets.
“Yeah, I’d love to play as long as I can, as long as it’s fun, as long as my body feels good, as long as they want me,” Rodgers said.
It’s a pretty big announcement from Rodgers, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter as a result.

It will certainly be interesting to see how long Rodgers does play in the NFL.
