The Pittsburgh Steelers have shown immense patience as the franchise awaits Aaron Rodgers’ decision on whether or not he will return to the NFL or call it a career and retire. Early in the offseason, the Steelers expressed confidence that it would have a decision from the four-time MVP relatively early in the offseason, but that has not been the case.
It was reported, heading into last weekend, that Rodgers was in Pittsburgh and that he would be meeting with Pittsburgh to reach a deal that would confirm his return for at least one more season.
However, on Monday, it was reported that no such meeting occurred.
“Aaron Rodgers did not meet with the Steelers over the weekend,” Pro Football Talk reported.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“I’m getting so **** sick of Aaron Rodgers. Used to be a supporter. He needs a ride on off into the sunset. He’s over the hill,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“The Steelers should give him the middle finger like the jets did!!!” another fan addded.
“He may be the most selfish complicated player ever. Stop calling WR’s divas. The queen diva ARod,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see what Rodgers ultimately decides. If he retires, it could mean former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Will Howard opening the season as the starter in the Steel City.
