The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for immediate playoff success under new head coach Mike McCarthy. However, McCarthy will have to figure out Pittsburgh’s starting quarterback problem, just like Mike Tomlin before him.

Last season, the Steelers trotted out four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers as the starter on Sundays. However, Rodgers is still weighing his options, which include both retirement and potentially signing with another team.

Art Rooney II, Pittsburgh’s owner and President, revealed last month that he was expecting Rodgers’ future to be discussed and settled within about a month.

“We don’t know what Aaron’s plans are right now, and that did not weigh heavily in the decision,” Rooney said. “We’ll see where Aaron is, and we’ve left the door open, but obviously, we all have to sit down and see if that makes sense.

So that’ll happen sometime in the next month or so. But the decision was made based on Mike being the coach we want, and it really had very little to do with whether Aaron is going to be back or not.”

No decision has been made, but general manager Omar Khan has confirmed that while thigns haven’t been settled, Rodgers’ decision isn’t expected to take as long as it did last offseason, which is shocking given Rodgers’ history.

“Omar Khan says that he and Mike McCarthy have been in contact with Aaron Rodgers. Says at this point all options are on the table. But he does not expect this to play out the same way it did last year where they waited,” reported Nick Farabaugh.

Fans reacted to Khan’s revelation on social media.

“If they not waiting yall can forget it then cause aaron gone take it all the way to the summer,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“They need to give Rodgers a deadline and it should be before free agency starts. Last year was a (mess) waiting on him,” one fan added.

“They need a definitive answer before free agency starts, as far as I’m concerned,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see what Rodgres decides and when the decision comes.
