Many have been speculating about Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers and what he will ultimately decide to do this offseason. Rodgers said that he would make a decision shortly after his “darkness retreat,” and the veteran QB detailed precisely what was going through his mind on the spiritual vacation.
In his time away from the light, Rodgers detailed in an interview set to air on Wednesday that he was heavily weighing his life in retirement along with what it would look like if he decided to continue his NFL career.
“I spent parts of a couple of days imagining what it would be like to retire, and then imagining what it would be like to continue to play,” said Rodgers via Ari Meirov of The33rdteam.com on Twitter.
To this point, nothing official has come from Rodgers that he is leaning one way or the other on his decision. However, former NFL player Brandon Marshall released a video on Instagram Tuesday suggesting that Aaron Rodgers will ultimately retire.
Regardless, the NFL world continued their speculation about Rodgers’ future while also questioning his tactics in coming to a final decision.
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst revealed on Tuesday that he still hopes that Rodgers makes his decision by March 15th, which is the start of NFL free agency. He also detailed that “all options are on the table” for their quarterback situation moving forward.
It seems like whatever Aaron Rodgers reveals on Wednesday’s podcast will be significant, and could be a true indicator of what both his and the Packers’ future looks like moving forward.
