Aaron Rodgers drew massive conversation on Tuesday after the star quarterback made a bold claim about one of his new teammates. The New York Jets acquired Rodgers earlier this off-season, and the future Pro Football Hall of Famer is adjusting well. According to the QB himself, Rodgers has already worked out with the team and is already impressed, particularly with star second-year wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
Rodgers went on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday to discuss various topics, including Wilson, the former Ohio State star, who stood out to the legendary quarterback. Rodgers made a bold claim, saying Wilson reminded him of superstar receiver Davante Adams.
“There’s another 17 I played with for a long time who does it better than anybody,” Rodgers said via ProFootballTalk. “The explosiveness in and out of breaks, the 17 here, is pretty similar.”
Garrett Wilson is just one year into his NFL career but has impressed important people. Including his new quarterback, who he will want to be on the same page with. Rodgers seems to enjoy throwing to him, which could lead to serious dynamite this NFL season.
Wilson recorded 83 receptions, 1,103 yards, and four receiving touchdowns in an outstanding rookie season. Now with Aaron Rodgers around, the sky might be the limit for him. Especially if he lives up to the bold claim.
The NFL world reacted to Rodgers’ claim.
