The Saint Peter’s Peacocks have gone the farthest of any 15-seed team in the NCAA Tournament. The underdog has been embraced by many as they went through Kentucky, Murray State, and Purdue to get to the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Elite Eight.
Alas, the Cinderella dream has come to an end as North Carolina dominated for a 69-49 win and advance to the Final Four where they will play their hated rivals, the Duke Blue Devils. Remarkably, this will be the first time Duke and North Carolina will play against each other in the NCAA Tournament.
While it’s understandable for Saint Peter’s to be disappointed that their run has come to an end, they shouldn’t feel bad for themselves because they went on a magical run.
Many on social media paid respect for the Peacocks’ run. A run that we won’t soon forget.
