Just a few weeks after decommitting from Texas (after originally committing to the Longhorns in August), five-star Quinn Ewers tweeted on Thursday night that he has committed to Ohio State.
Ewers is the No. 1 prospect of the 2022 recruiting class according to ESPN and 247 Sports. The Buckeyes have the No. 1 recruiting class in 2022 according to 247 Sports, while also having the No. 2 class in 2021. And they now have the No. 1 recruit in three straight years (WR Julian Fleming in 2020, DE Jack Sawyer in 2021, and Ewers in 2022), according to ESPN.
Ewers is a 6’3″, 205-pound pro-style quarterback from Carroll High School in Southlake, TX.
In his sophomore season, Ewers threw for 4,003 yards, 45 touchdowns, and three interceptions.
So, even though the Buckeyes will lose Justin Fields (the likely No. 2 overall pick) to the NFL Draft after this season, their future at quarterback still looks extremely bright. Along with Ewers in the class of 2022, Ohio State has four-star quarterback Kyle McCord in the class of 2021. The Buckeyes should remain a juggernaut for a long while.
