Whatever Ohio State is paying Brian Hartline, it may not be nearly enough. A day after the wide receiver coach landed his latest five-star recruit, he landed another one.

On Tuesday, the Buckeyes received a commitment from five-star recruit Carnell Tate, who specifically cited Hartline as a major reason why he chose them.

“Coach (Brian) Hartline is what made Ohio State right for me,” said Tate. “His development is very important to me. I know he would help develop me into a first-round pick and a great receiver.

On Wednesday, it was Brandon Inniss’s turn. The Fort Lauderdale American Heritage player, who is ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver and No. 18 overall recruit in the 2023 class, per 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, announced his decision on social media.

“Buckeye Nation. I’m home!” Inniss wrote. The inclusion of the #Back2Back hashtag appears to be a nod to Tate as well.

Ohio State currently has the No. 2 2023 recruiting class, per 247Sports’ rankings, trailing only Notre Dame, who also happens to be their season-opening opponent this year.

Along with these two five-star recruits, OSU also has commitments from nine four-star recruits.

The point is, if you end up playing against Ohio State in the next 2-3 years, you might want to recruit some defensive backs to try and keep up.
