Obi Toppin is a player-of-the-year contender for the surging Dayton Flyers, perhaps contenders for a #1 seed in the wake of San Diego State going down to Utah State in the Mountain West.
Against George Washington today in Dayton, Toppin was at his best, going for 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Some of those points weren’t created equal, though. For example, there are these three dunks:
Just ridiculous.
These courtside angles are incredible, too.
What a regular season for Toppin and his Flyers, They’ll enter the A-10 tournament as heavy favorites, and indeed if they win it they might be the only team from the traditionally multi-bid league to make it to the dance. That means bubble teams are big Dayton fans, at least until they might have to play them in a few weeks themselves, because Dayton is definitely going to be a tough out in March.
That’s thanks in large part to Toppin himself, who is the kind of player that can play against anyone in the country.
