The Tulsa Golden Hurricane were set to have a (rather easy) touchdown in the third quarter against Navy on Friday night, but wide receiver Josh Johnson flat-out dropped a pass in the end zone.
Missing out on this touchdown opportunity would’ve been frustrating enough, but it even turned into an interception!
Navy freshman Rayuan Lane made an amazing play to reel in a circus interception on the drop, resulting in a touchback with the game tied 10-10.
Tulsa quarterback Davis Brin deserved a touchdown instead of an interception in the box score, but it was certainly a well-earned interception by Lane.
That ended up being a crucial play in Navy’s 20-17 upset victory (they were 11-point underdogs).
