Oklahoma’s Haley Lee celebrates as she comes home after hitting a home run in the second inning of a college softball game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners (OU) and the Texas Longhorns at USA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Friday, March 31, 2023. Ou Softball Vs Texas

No matter the sport, Texas-Oklahoma is always a huge rivalry game. And in huge rivalry games, the pressure is always dialed up an extra notch. That rang true Saturday, as the Sooners prevailed with a 4-3 come-from-behind victory to keep a 51-game home winning streak intact.

Down 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Sooners rallied for three runs to knock off the Longhorns.

Two batters into the inning, Oklahoma tied the game at 3 apiece. Junior outfielder Jayda Coleman launched her ninth home run of the season, kicking off the rally with a two-run bomb.

Following the big win, multiple former Oklahoma players sounded off on Coleman’s big hit.

“JAYDA COLEMAN YOU LIKE THAT,” tweeted former Oklahoma softball player Jocelyn Alo.

“Jayda Coleman you are THE TRUTH!” tweeted Lauren Chamberlain.

After Coleman’s clutch hit came a walk, single, fielder’s choice, and another walk which led to Kinzie Hanson coming to the plate with the bases loaded and one out. The senior catcher drilled a base hit into centerfield to give the Sooners a walk-off victory.

“WHAT A COMEBACK IN THE 7TH INNING FOR THE SOONERS!! @OU_Softball keeps their 51-game winning streak intact,” tweeted the official ESPN account.

“.@OU_Softball is built different,” the official SportsCenter account tweeted in reference to the team’s insane winning streak.
