After two illustrious years at Oklahoma, college softball star Jordyn Bahl announced she’d be on the move earlier this week. On Thursday, Bahl revealed her new college of choice, as the star pitcher will now suit up for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
“After 2 years of wonderful memories, I’m excited for 2 more representing the Nebraska Cornhuskers. This state, these people, and this N are all things I’m excited, proud, and thankful to be a part of,” Bahl tweeted.
The move comes on the heels of utter domination in Norman. Bahl was electric in the circle and at the plate for the Sooners en route to back-to-back championships. The Oklahoma softball program has won each of the last three NCAA softball championships, and two huge reasons why they won the previous two were Bahl and her efforts.
In her two years at Oklahoma, Jordyn Bahl recorded an ERA of 1.00 and a record of 44-2 over 288.2 innings. She’s thrown 26 complete games, allowed only 41 earned runs, and just 152 hits. She’s logged 397 strikeouts, including 205 in her freshman season. Hitters have only hit .153 against her and have hit just 10 home runs off her.
Suffice it to say, she’s one of the best players in the country. So Nebraska will be happy to have her aboard. She could give that program a huge boost in the Big Ten. Timely, as well, since powerhouse UCLA is coming soon.
