You’ve seen home runs, you’ve seen inside-the-park home runs. You’ve seen grand slams, but have you ever seen an inside-the-park grand slam? Well, if you haven’t, then today’s your lucky day. A college softball player just struck gold with in epic fashion.
Central Arkansas outfielder Jenna Wildeman probably didn’t think she was going to spring onto the scene as she did on Sunday. But the former high school All-American softball player helped lead her team to victory. In the third inning, she collected the epic inside-the-park grand slam to swell their lead over North Florida to 8-0.
What’s more? Wildeman hit the amazing inside-the-parker and didn’t even have to slide into home plate!
“Everyone loves a regular ol’ stand up inside the park grand slam!” UCA Softball excitedly tweeted.
This is an incredibly insane feat. It’s one thing to get enough behind you to get an inside-the-park home run. They’re rare for a reason, and usually occur after misplays or with speed demons, or a mix of the two.
An inside-the-park home run with players on base is a hard feat. Your fate is tied to them and not you. An inside-the-park Grand Slam? Go crazy, Jenna Wildeman, you may never achieve something more insane in your entire life, softball or not.
The NCAA Softball account, like many, had their minds blown by the feat.
