The Sugar Bowl didn’t start very well for the No. 7 Baylor Bears. Against the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs, they posted just 25 rushing yards, 72 passing yards, and no points in the first half. Quarterback Charlie Brewer started the day with 12 completions on 22 attempts (54.5 percent) for 72 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. Here’s that pick:
Georgia’s offense looked much better early. They put up 272 yards and 19 points, with Jake Fromm completing 14 of 19 passes (73.7 percent) for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Here’s one of those touchdowns:
Baylor got off to a better start in the second half, scoring on their first possession and then forcing a three-and-out from Georgia. We’ll see if the Bears can continue to catch up.
