A news outlet is reporting that Class of 2023 No. 1 recruit Arch Manning may have narrowed his school choices down to two: Georgia and Texas, which means Alabama may be out of the picture. But according to other reports out of the Manning camp, Alabama is NOT out of it yet.
Sportskeeda reported earlier on Monday that Manning had removed Alabama from his list. But in fact, it appears that according to On3 Sports, Crimson Tide assistant coaches are at Manning’s practice Monday afternoon, contradicting Sportskeeda’s earlier report.
Manning has made no secret that his top three schools are Alabama, Georgia, and Texas. In fact, in recent weeks, Manning has made recruiting trips to each school. But there are still some outlets reporting that although the Crimson Tide aren’t totally out of the picture, their chances of landing the star quarterback are fading some.
The Crimson Tide has already signed 5-star quarterback Ty Simpson out of Tennessee, which may explain why Manning may not be as interested in the Tide as he was a few months ago. Simpson is already on campus in Tuscaloosa and looks like he will be the third-string quarterback for Alabama this upcoming season.
Reports are that Manning won’t make a decision until the end of the year. Until then, the speculation will continue.
