The Golden State Warriors were already down forward Draymond Green for Game 5 of the NBA Finals due to suspension, and they’ve now lost another key frontcourt member in Andrew Bogut to what looks like a potentially serious knee injury.
The 7’0″ Bogut was trying to block a shot from Cleveland’s J.R. Smith in the third quarter, and contact with Smith made Bogut land awkwardly on his left knee.
Yikes. So far, the injury is just being called a sprained left knee, and he will undergo an MRI for more details:
Andrew Bogut has suffered a left knee sprain and will not return to tonight’s game. An MRI is scheduled for later tonight.

If somehow the injury ends up being just a minor sprain, Game 6 of The Finals (if necessary) is Thursday, and Game 7 would be Sunday. So, it’s hard to see Bogut being able to contribute again in this series, and that’s a huge loss for the Warriors if so.
