Projected No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2023 NBA Draft Victor Wembanyama showed exactly why he has so much hype on Tuesday night, showing out yet again with an impressive performance in his team’s LNB Pro A Semifinals game. That wasn’t all, as he showed off an unbelievable dunk during the team’s pre-game warmups.
Wembanyama is lauded for his extreme athleticism and guard skills while standing at seven-foot-two. These were on display with an unbelievable between-the-legs dunk while the team was doing layup lines before the game.
The San Antonio Spurs appear to have a future star on their hands if they do indeed select him with the No. 1 pick in the draft. Many around the NBA world took notice of this ridiculous dunk on social media, with many believing that he will be a real problem at the NBA level.
When it came time to actually take the court in the game, he wasn’t too shabby either. He finished the game with 13 points and ten rebounds, which was enough to lead his team to an 86-83 victory.
Wembanyama is likely the most hyped prospect since LeBron James, a distinction that can certainly be extremely tough to live up to. To this point, the French superstar has done everything right on the court to prove that he is indeed a player to watch for years to come.
History tells us that at the very least Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich will get the most that he can out of Wembanyama if he is the pick for San Antonio. The last two No. 1 picks that the Spurs have made ended up being Hall of Fame big men Tim Duncan and David Robinson.
