The Atlanta Hawks made an incredible fourth-quarter comeback to take down the Philadelphia 76ers 109-106 in Game 5. Or, the Philadelphia 76ers had an embarrassing collapse to lose 109-106 to the Atlanta Hawks in Game 5.
Philadelphia led by as many as 26 points and took an 18-point lead into the fourth quarter. But Atlanta outscored Philadelphia 40-19 in the fourth quarter, including a 16-0 run to finish the game (before Philadelphia made a meaningless shot as time expired).
Trae Young was brilliant for Atlanta, scoring 39 points on 10-of-23 shooting from the field and 17-of-19 sharpshooting from the charity stripe. He was big down the stretch.
It appeared that Philadelphia would cruise to a Game 5 win and 3-2 series lead, but now they have to win two straight- and Game 6 will be in Atlanta. The Hawks will look to take advantage of their stunning opportunity and close out the series on Friday night.
