Perhaps Hollywood’s fastest rising star, Timothée Chalamet, proved himself as a real deal “ball knower” during an appearance on College Gameday, where even the show’s panelists were impressed with his analysis. Since then, Chalamet has taken his love of sports to the big screen, starring in “Marty Supreme.”
In the film, which received critical acclaim, Chalamet portrays Marty Mauser, a world-class table tennis player who willing to do anything necesary in order to succeed.
Now, Chalmet is taking his love of sporst to the NBA.
“Timothée Chalamet will appear on LeBron James’ podcast ‘MIND THE GAME’ They will talk together on stage after a special screening of ‘MARTY SUPREME’ at the DGA Theater,” reported Discussing Film on Tuesday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“At this point LeBron’s building a media empire bigger than some studios… and Some people still think athletes should ‘stick to sports.’ lol Podcasts are the new press tours and actors don’t even need journalists anymore,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“The crossover nobody expected but everybody needed. A 6’9 basketball legend and a skinny French kid who played Willy Wonka sitting down to talk about the game. And somehow it makes perfect sense because both of them are the best at what they do and they know it,” someone else added.
“From folk singer to table tennis legend to LeBron’s podcast guest. Timmy’s career arc is wilder than his glasses collection,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see where Chalamet’s career goes from here.
