Former NBA star Stephen Jackson became the topic of conversation on Tuesday. Jackson inserted himself into the discussion amongst some of the league’s greats. As it turns out, Jackson did that and said he was better than all of them.
Jackson claimed he was better than Basketball Hall of Famers Manu Ginobili and Ray Allen. Allen and Ginobili, multi-time NBA champions, weren’t the only players named. Jackson claimed he was better than ‘Half Man-Half Amazing’ Vince Carter. And additionally, he was the “Tupac of the NBA,” as MVP43 tweeted.

As you can imagine, such claims weren’t agreed upon on Twitter.
One fan said, “I can’t even begin to wrap my head around what I just listened to.”
An annoyed fan then said, “If I heard nothing else about Stephen Jackson ever again it would still be too much.”

Another fan defended one Vince Carter.
Then another fan issued a warning about former athletes who have podcasts. Suffice it to say, don’t always listen too deeply to all of them.
Hot take culture claimed another one in this instance. It’s not arguable that Stephen Jackson was a very good NBA player. But in terms of accolades, compared to Ray Allen and Manu Ginobili, even Vince Carter, it’s a steeper climb. That was the way it was when they all played together and it still is now.
