Shaquille O’Neal is joining Kyrie Irving as a flat-Earth truther. At least we think so. But it’s also impossible to tell for sure.
On Saturday’s episode of The Big Podcast With Shaq, here’s what O’Neal told co-host John Kincade:

You can hear Shaq sounds like he’s trying to actually make a point, but at the same time he’s laughing through the whole damn thing.
A month ago, Irving went all-in as a flat-Earth truther during an interview with teammates Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson on their “Road Tripping” podcast.
“This is not even a conspiracy,” Irving said in February. “The Earth is flat. What I’ve been taught is that the Earth is round. But I mean, if you really think about it from a landscape of the way we travel, the way we move and the fact that, can you really think of us rotating around the sun and all planets aligned, rotating in specific dates, being perpendicular with what’s going on with these planets and stuff like this.”
Irving was asked all week about his comments and has stood by them to this day. Jefferson then wore a hilarious “Flat World Champions” shirt, but no one could tell if he was supporting his teammate or trolling him.
On Saturday’s podcast with Shaq, Kincade took the stance that Irving was trolling the media to make an implicit point about “fake news” in politics following the 2016 presidential election.
I’m inclined to agree with Kincade, but that’s just a gut feeling. If Irving and Shaq are trolling, they haven’t cracked yet.
