It’s safe to say that Donald Trump isn’t the most popular former United States President among NBA players – either former or current players. But that clearly is not the case for former NBA first-round pick Royce White who made a bold move in support of Trump this week.
Royce White is participating in rapper Ice Cube’s BIG3 3-on-3 basketball league this summer. And during his most recent game, White had a pretty bold and controversial message to share with the audience watching on national television.
Written on his head in what appears to be a black Sharpie marker, White had a message about the 2020 United States presidential election: “Trump Won!”
This is certainly not the first time that White has played a game with a political message written across his head. On July 3, White wrote “Protect RFK Jr.” and in the past, he’s written a number of other messages including “Free the Uyghurs,” “Gain of Function” and “George Floyd” amid the racial strife in 2020.
White has never been shy about broadcasting his conservative views publically, but this might be the furthest he’s ever taken his quest to speak his mind politically.
As for the game, White’s team “Power” defeated Trilogy by a score of 50-40.
