The Los Angeles Lakers are in the midst of a heater, winning 12 of the last 13 games to shoot up into third place in the Western Conference standings. The Lakers have been led by the otherworldly play of superstar Luka Doncic, but the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, LeBron James, has also been playing some impressive ball.

However, speculation on a potential James exit this offseason continues to build, with rumors swirling that he could spend his 24th year in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors or Cleveland Cavaliers.

On Wednesday’s episode of  Game Over with Max Kellerman and Rich Paul, Paul, who is James’ agent, spoke honestly about James’ future, and while he didn’t confirm any moves, he certainly didn’t rule any out, either.

“There’s no truth to any of it. First of all, I don’t know what’s happening. He don’t know either! We don’t even talk about it… Just enjoy the moment,” Paul said to Kellerman.

“The man is playing minutes with his son. Meaningful minutes! The Lakers are 12-1 and playing well, why are you talking about some stuff for next year? I get you have to talk about it but it’s like oh my god, nobody knows! I don’t care what article is written, I don’t care what tweet is out there, nobody knows anything.”

Both scenarios that are currently making the rounds in the rumor mill, partnering with Warriors point guard Stephen Curry or returning to the franchise where it all started, would set up storybook endings for James, but with the way Los Angeles is playing right now… The storybook ending might just come this season.
