Ben Simmons entered Wednesday averaging 16.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.9 assists in 171 career NBA games. He’s been highly productive for the Philadelphia 76ers after the being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. However, he’d never made a three-pointer in NBA game. Not a single three-pointer in 171 games, and while essentially being a point guard (despite standing 6’10”).
That finally changed on Wednesday night.
Simmons nailed a corner three in the first quarter of Philly’s game against the New York Knicks, and the crowd erupted at Wells Fargo Center. The moment also featured an awesome call from NBC Sports Philadelphia play-by-play man Marc Zumoff.
That makes Simmons 1-for-18 on three-pointers in his career, but 100% in the 2019-20 season!
Oh, and the three-pointer already got the Titanic music treatment, of course.
