If you watched the entire Miami Heat–Boston Celtics game, then congratulations. Though nobody would’ve blamed you if you stopped watching after the first quarter. In a game of sheer domination, the Celtics held the Heat to a single point until 3:22 left in the first quarter and they kept up a 20+ point lead throughout the majority of the game, ultimately winning 102-82. The win by the Celtics makes this series a best-of-three.
Sure, Miami couldn’t hit anything but Boston’s defending was superb. The Celtics had 11 combined blocks from six different players and held the Heat starters to a combined 18 points, the lowest in a playoff game since 1971.
Despite the blowout, it’s still anyone’s series. The Heat have two home games left in a 2-2 series and both teams have held 20+ point leads in alternating games. In other words, this series has had wild scoring swings that it’s plausible the Heat could win by 20 in Game 5.
Anyway, many took notice of the game and the result.
