The Los Angeles Lakers‘ extremely disappointing 2021-22 NBA season officially won’t feature a playoff berth.
The Phoenix Suns beat the Lakers 121-110 on Tuesday night to eliminate Los Angeles (31-48) from playoff — and play-in — contention in the Western Conference, and with three games still to go.
On the other side, the Suns — owners of the NBA’s best record by eight games — set their franchise record for wins in a season with 63.

The Lakers have lost seven games in a row. LeBron James sat out Tuesday night’s game with an ankle injury.
Basketball fans have had plenty of tweets — and jokes — on the Lakers officially being eliminated. Here’s a sampling of the social media reaction:
Careful out there everyone. I had two Lakers-Thunder tickets in my car for Friday and someone broke in and left four more. pic.twitter.com/mU3tpcWcIZ
