The Charlotte Hornets throttled the Indiana Pacers 158-126 on Wednesday night in Indianapolis.
Yes, 158 points- that’s a Hornets franchise record, shattering a previous record of 141 regulation points scored in Nov. 1993 (they scored 143 in an overtime loss earlier this season). It’s also the highest point total for an NBA team this season.
Charlotte scored 87 points in the second half, the most second-half points by any NBA team since Jan. 1991. They made 24 three-pointers, tying a franchise record.
And Kelly Oubre — who didn’t even start the game — scored a career-high 39 points, while making a franchise record-tying 10 three-pointers (also a career-high for Oubre).
LaMelo Ball continued his excellence with a triple-double: 29 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds. He was also a game-high plus-minus of +45.
And then there’s the other side: it was a historically brutal defensive effort from the Indiana Pacers, who allowed the most points since they joined the NBA.
