Zeke Upshaw of the NBA G League’s Grand Rapids Drive collapsed on the court with less than a minute to go in Saturday night’s game against the Long Island Nets.
According to the Wood TV 8 (Grand Rapids NBC affiliate), Upshaw was in cardiac arrest and in critical condition after being rushed to a hospital.
Zeke Upshaw was defending an opposing player with less than a minute to go in the fourth quarter when he collapsed. He was carted off the court and taken to an area hospital via ambulance.
A source says he was in cardiac arrest and was last reported to be in critical condition.
Upshaw, 26, is in his second season with Grand Rapids and is averaging 8.5 points per game. The 6’6″ swingman played three seasons at Illinois State, before transferring to Hofstra for his senior season and averaging 19.8 points per game.
