The Michael Jordan vs. LeBron James GOAT debate has come up a lot the past few years, but it’s taken a nasty and absurd turn for the worse in recent days.
Many James fans and/or Jordan haters have been ridiculing MJ’s career in a bid to prove that Lebron is the GOAT. Here’s a scouting report on Jordan based on TikTok and X/Twitter posts the past few days: He shot too much, could not use his left hand at all, played in an NBA era with zero defense and couldn’t shoot the 3.
It gets worse — there’s a meme making the rounds on social media showing a flustered fast food worker, with the caption, “Michael Jordan if he didn’t play in the 80s and 90s.”

All the chatter about Jordan’s legacy sent his name trending on X Saturday. Many TikTok users have been trashing the notion that Jordan’s era featured better defense.
But whatever you say about Jordan’s skills or accomplishments, there’s no disputing his popularity. And his fans have come out in force to defend him. So did longtime NBA fans who remember his greatness.
watching the Michael Jordan GOAT debate fall off in real time is the best thing to happen this year
