Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been away from the team dating back to March 4th after a video emerged of him showing off a gun on an Instagram live stream at a nightclub. It is unclear when he will return to the team, but an update emerged on Monday suggests he is at least getting the help off the court that he needs to get his NBA career back in line.
The gun incident is just the tip of the iceberg for Morant and his off-the-court issues. He has also reportedly been involved in multiple separate incidents where he was aggressive toward kids. All of these incidents have led to the next step for Morant being in a counseling program.
According to ESPN NBA insiders Adrian Wojnarowski and Tim MacMahon, Morant has entered a counseling program in Florida to help with his off-the-court issues. Wojnarowski added that there is still no timeline for Morant’s NBA return to the Grizzlies organization.
Many hope that this can help Morant get his head straight and get back onto the court.
Good for Ja. Cheering for his continued success. He’s one of the league’s most exciting players and I hope he has that opportunity for a long time. https://t.co/iZiqWDeVXq

It is a good indication that Morant is willing to go to counseling to help him reassess his life. Hopefully, this is the first step for Morant to get back onto an NBA court.
Morant has certainly been a special player when he is on the court. Over the course of his four-year NBA career, Morant has appeared in two All-Star games and helped lead the Grizzlies to back-to-back playoff berths.
