It looks like Dallas Mavericks billionaire owner Mark Cuban isn’t content with owning just one professional sports team, so he’s buying another one in a totally different sport: pickleball.
On Thursday morning, the Pro Pickleball Association announced the formation of the VIBE Pickleball League and revealed that Mark Cuban was the first to purchase a team and join the VIBE Pickleball League as an owner.
“Just like millions of other Americans, I’ve been following pickleball over the past few years, and I couldn’t pass up the chance to invest in the fastest growing game in the country,” Mark Cuban said in a statement. “VIBE presents an unparalleled opportunity to launch a new pro league that will feature the best-of-the-best in a highly competitive setting. I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
It’s some pretty fun news for sports fans, and the sports world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

Cuban is far from the first prominent sports figure to invest in professional pickleball. Tom Brady recently purchased a professional pickleball team as part of Major League Pickleball – a different professional league than Cuban. Drew Brees also owns a Major League Pickleball team and LeBron James, Kevin Love and Draymond Green are all invested in a professional pickleball team.
