The term GOAT gets thrown around way too much these days and has a lot of its value. But there are still some instances where the one-and-only GOAT (Greatest of All Time) is still applicable.
Specifically, whether or not the NBA GOAT is LeBron James or Michael Jordan.
Everyone has their opinions about which NBA all-timer is the best to ever play, and that includes ESPN’s Tim Legler.
Legler shared his thoughts during Friday’s edition of Get Up and he made it clear that he believes there’s nothing James can do at this point to surpass Jordan.
“He is cemented at two as much as anything on any list you could ever create. He is cemented at two. There’s no movement there. He’s not getting caught from behind anytime soon and there’s nothing he can do to make up the ground with Jordan,” Legler said.
It’s not often you hear that a guy with four NBA titles, four NBA Finals MVPs, four NBA MVP awards, and the NBA’s all-time leading scorer isn’t good enough to be considered the best ever. But such is the LeBron-Jordan debate.
James isn’t slowing down either. He’s still averaging over 25 points per game and has plans to play with his son Bronny James before retiring.
