The Los Angeles Lakers have foudn themselves at a major crossroads. On one hand, they still have LeBron James on the roster, as he gears up to enter his 23rd season in the NBA, but on the other hand, the Lakers also have the much younger Luka Doncic, who is entering his prime and figures to be the piece the Lakers will prioritize building around moving forward.

The Lakers now have to decide whether they want to try and win another title before James’ imminent retirement, or plan for their future with Doncic. However, it seems that one of the parties involved is also tired of the direction the Lakers are headed, and has been for quite some time.

“LeBron James has become ‘increasingly frustrated’ with the direction of the Lakers since trading for Russell Westbrook, per (Anthony Irwin),” reported Legion Hoops on Twitter.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Translation: LeBron is frustrated that the roster moves he and Klutch Sports helped engineer backfired, and now he’s shifting blame and playing the victim,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Lol what? He’s frustrated with the lakers since trading for the guy he specifically said he wanted them to trade for and gave up some of their best assets for?” someone else added.

“Pelinka begrudgingly traded for Russ at LBJ’s request which put the team in such a financial rut. Pelinka even signed one of his boys in Carmelo. It just proved that LBJ has often wanted what was best for him and not best for the team,” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if James ever suits up for the Lakers again or forces his way to a more championship-ready organization for his last dance.
