LeBron James has played for three different teams throughout his NBA career, and there’s a chance he could finish his career with a different one. However, it’s pretty clear that it won’t be with the Memphis Grizzlies.

This week, a video surfaced of LeBron James on the golf course casually dissing the Grizzlies and the city of Memphis as he made it very clear he does not enjoy road trips to the city and has no plans to ever play for that team as long as they remain in Memphis.

“At 41 years old, you think I’m gonna do that (expletive)? In Memphis on a random (expletive) Thursday?” James said incredulously in a video shared on social media by Legion Hoops.

And James made it clear that he’s not the only person in the league who feels this way.

“I’m not like the first guy to even talk about this in the NBA,” James said. “We’re all like ‘You guys have to move.’ Just go over to Nashville.'”

James pointed out that Nashville is a much bigger city that is far better suited to support a basketball team, considering the city already includes Vanderbilt University, hosts NASCAR races, and is home to both the Tennessee Titans of the NFL and the Nashville Predators of the NHL.

“They’ve got everything,” James said of Nashville.

When someone pointed out that it seemed unlikely that the future Hall of Famer would be signing with the Grizzlies anytime soon, James was not shy about agreeing. In fact, he went as far as to suggest that even if they drafted him, he might have simply refused to show up.

“Yeah, they know,” James said. “Their only chance was in 2003 if they had won the lottery, getting me there. And I might have pulled an Eli Manning and never showed up.”

Manning, of course, was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the 2004 NFL Draft. However, he refused to play for the team. As a result, he was immediately traded to the New York Giants during the draft in exchange for Philip Rivers.

As for James, he is expected to become an unrestricted free agent this summer after the end of the season. At that point, he could sign with any team in the league to potentially end his legendary NBA career. However, it’s pretty clear that the Grizzlies will not be in consideration.
