Sometimes in sports, you just never know when you’re going to be on the go. That was reinforced again on Sunday in the massive Kyrie Irving blockbuster trade. The Brooklyn Nets sent the multi-time All-Star point guard to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for multiple players and picks. Irving’s recent trade request was granted, as he now heads to the Western Conference, but one player is returning back East and to the Nets again.
Spencer Dinwiddie spent a few seasons with the Nets. He played for the Nets from 2016-2021. He was then involved in another massive trade – the one that sent former NBA MVP Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers. Dinwiddie landed with the Mavs and now is returning back to the New York borough of Brooklyn after the Irving trade.
Dinwiddie commented on the move almost right after it happened. “When @ShamsCharania says it’s time to go you pack your bags. Plus Elijah said he wanted to go back home,” Dinwiddie tweeted.
Pretty funny. Shams was among the first to report the deal on Sunday afternoon and Dinwiddie decided to hilariously respond to being involved.
Sometimes you never know when it’s coming. Sometimes you never know how or where you’re going to react to a trade in sports either. Spencer Dinwiddie is another in a long line to find that out in the Kyrie Irving trade.
