While rapper and entrepreneur Kanye West faces public backlash, lost business deals, and severed relationships for his recent antisemitic comments, it appears that Brooklyn Nets star guard Kyrie Irving is making some antisemitic statements of his own.
On Thursday afternoon, Kyrie Irving shared a link on Twitter to a 2018 film that has been heavily criticized as being antisemitic.

After the Brooklyn Nets were made aware of Irving’s controversial Tweet, the team issued a statement to The Athletic condemning “any form of hate speech,” in response to the apparent antisemitic message.
“The Brooklyn Nets strongly condemn and have no tolerance for the promotion of any form of hate speech. We believe that in these situations, our first action must be open, honest dialogue. We thank those, including the ADL, who have been supportive during this time.”
Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai also released a statement condemning Irving’s promotion of the antisemitic film.
“I’m disappointed that Kyrie appears to support a film based on a book full of anti-semitic disinformation. I want to sit down and make sure he understands this is hurtful to all of us, and as a man of faith, it is wrong to promote hate based on race, ethnicity or religion,” Tsai said on Twitter. “This is bigger than basketball.”
